Microwave Techniques, LLC the parent company of MEGA, is pleased to announce that is has acquired all of the assets and IP of Raleigh, North Carolina based Industrial Microwave Systems, LLC (IMS) from Laitram, LLC.
Gorham, Maine and Nashua, New Hampshire –
The acquisition of Industrial Microwave Systems (IMS) by Mega and Ferrite’s parent company, Microwave Techniques, LLC, creates a global leader in high-power 915 MHz microwave heating and drying systems for both solids and fluids. The merging of these two long-time leading microwave systems brands (IMS and Ferrite) offers customers a one stop source for lab and commercial scale microwave systems.
Mega Industries product line focuses on microwave components. These components often integrate into large scale microwave systems such as IMS’s and Ferrite’s. FMT also has its own line of legacy microwave components, including: circulators, isolators, loads, windows, and more.
About Microwave Techniques: Systems & Components
Microwave Techniques, LLC (MT) created a global leader in high power microwave solutions, after the merging of MEGA and FMT in 2020. The group now adds Industrial Microwave Systems fluid heating and continuous belt-based systems into its expansive product portfolio.
Microwave Techniques offers dual expertise in high-power microwave components, as well as complete microwave systems for applications including: tempering, heating, cooking, drying, bonding, curing, reacting, cracking and sterilizing.
The systems division offers large scale microwave solutions such as: belt and continuous, batch ovens, fluid and slurry heating systems, lab-scale, single mode and multi mode systems. It also offers stand-alone microwave generators or transmitters to provide power to systems. The systems group is based in Nashua, New Hampshire – and is moving to a much larger facility in the fall to support IMS production and its continued growth.
The components division offers a multitude of components, many of which have industrial settings, such as: rigid waveguides, tuners, transitions, circulators, combiners, transitions, loads, and beyond. The components group is based in Gorham, Maine, with two facilities located directly across the street from one another.
