LUND, Sweden – MEGA recently visited the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden to witness the installation of waveguide manufactured by MEGA.
During the visit, Adam Jones met with several members of the ESS RF team and discussed the installation progress, as well as the valued partnership between ESS and Mega.
Since breaking ground in 2013, Mega has supplied ESS with an estimated 5-6,000 pieces of waveguide and other various components. Mega has manufactured nearly 90 to 95 percent of the waveguide used at ESS.
According to Morten Jensen ESS, “Approximately 60% of the supplied components have been installed to date and we have been happy with the product and support from MEGA.”
The final piece from the original order was shipped by MEGA in September, and MEGA will be supplying spare pieces to ESS in the coming months.
