Mega Industries, LLC has been awarded a contract to supply S-Band Loads for use in meteorological radars worldwide. The S-Band Loads will be used as support technology in various international projects, as part of a major contract planned to gradually replace several weather radar systems across the globe.
The WR284 loads will support weather radar systems employed to track, detect and research natural weather and climate phenomena such as floods, droughts and tropical storms. In this application, a cooling fan was developed to achieve desired power handling capabilities for the weather radar system.
Mega is honored to have been awarded this contract, competing with an assortment of international manufacturers. Mega’s expertise in developing RF components for weather radar technology is entering its third decade. The presentation of this contract award is a testament to Mega’s well-established global leadership in microwave technology.
Given the international application, Mega partnered with sales representative, Globes Elektronik, to facilitate the contract. Mega extends their gratitude to Globes as a longstanding and valued partner.
The years of technical experience allowed Mega to custom-design S-Band loads to fit the demanding weather radar application. Through the 2014 acquisition of Microlab’s FXR Dummy Load product line, in conjunction with a pre-existing high-power load line, Mega has become a primary source for waveguide loads to support weather radar tracking systems.
A trusted name in microwave technology since 1989, Mega Industries continues to adopt, expand and improve their product lines, as a global leader in RF Solutions.
